Christian Dream
Interpretation

Why Define Dreams as Christian?

“For I would have you know, brethren,

that the gospel which was preached by me is not man’s gospel.

For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it,

but it came through a revelation of Jesus Christ.”

(Galatians 1:11-12)

It is generally accepted within Christianity that the Christ is the divine spiritual being who is responsible for the spiritual development of all humanity. We understand that He guides us as we strive to return to the Father. This process is one of perfecting human consciousness and this perfection comes to us via the light and love of Jesus Christ. “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” This quote from John 8:12, states this idea as clearly as is possible and no further elaboration is needed. Now, the light and love of the Christ shines upon all of humanity all of the time, but it is during sleep that we are able to apprehend His presence most clearly, for this is when human consciousness is most receptive to the spiritual realms.

The Christ is “the light [that] shines into the darkness . . . ” and He is “. . . the true light that enlightens every man . . . .” (John 1:5, 9) His is the very light that illuminates sleeping dreams. In this context, the apostle Paul encourages us when he says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light”. (Ephesians 5:14) This is a clarion call for the modern Christian to awaken from the darkness of unconsciousness and a deep hypnotic sleep, and begin to recognize the immanent presence of the light and love of the Lord.
